The legal battle continues for the District 2 seat on the Monroe County Board of Commissioners . At the board's meeting on Tuesday evening, Dec. 9, a letter from former District 2 commissioner Mark Brant was read, in which he expressed his interpretation of the order made by Judge Carol Kuhnke in September.

"The judge clearly agrees that my seat was not vacated," the letter said, citing the part of the order which says, "The validity of that election and its results will turn on any appellate review of the Court's decision herein."
