The Toronto Blue Jays have agreed to terms with right-hander Cody Ponce on a three-year contract.
The team says the deal is worth $30 million US.
Ponce, 31, had a 17-1 record last season with the Hanwha Eagles in South Korea's KBO League.
Ponce, who won the league MVP award, had a 1.89 earned-run average with 252 strikeouts.
He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2020 and 2021.
He was 1-7 with a 5.86 ERA over parts of two seasons with the Pirates before spending the next three years in Japan.
