BLOOMINGTON – Indiana University football head coach Curt Cignetti has cemented his place in college football history, being named the Walter Camp National Coach of the Year. This marks the second consecutive season Cignetti has earned the prestigious honor, making him the first coach ever to win the award in two straight seasons.
The accolade comes on the heels of an unprecedented season for the Hoosiers. Cignetti led IU to a 12-0 regular season, the first perfect run in program history. The team’s dominant performance culminated in a thrilling 13-10 victory over Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game, securing the program’s first Big Ten title since 1967.
