MARTINSBURG - The last of 82 defendants charged in connection with a drug trafficking network stretching from Baltimore to the Eastern Panhandle has been convicted, with only one defendant left to be sentenced.
Charles Delroy Singletary, 45, of Baltimore, was sentenced to 84 months in federal prison for his role in the operation, U.S. Attorney Matthew L. Harvey announced Tuesday. Harvey said Singletary worked as a courier and distributor, ensuring customers received fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine throughout Berkeley and Jefferson counties.
Singletary remained a fugitive for 18 months after the mass-indictment in January of 2024, using multiple aliases before he was caught. He is the 81st defendant to be sentenced, and all 82 have now been convicted.
