Three people are dead following a head-on collision in northeast Wyoming's Crook County, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.
It happened around 11:52 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, near milepost 16 on U.S. 212, about four miles southeast of the Wyoming-Montana state line.
According to a fatality crash summary , a man was behind the wheel of a westbound Subaru Forester west he "merged into the eastbound lane to overtake an unknown passenger vehicle" and collided head-on with an oncoming Subaru Outback.
Both Subarus came to an uncontrolled rest in the south borrow ditch.
Sadly, both drivers, 29-year-old New Yorker Jonathan Vought and 73-year-old Montanan Eugene Cadwell, and Cadwell's passenger, 52-year-old Montanan Rebecca Cadwell, didn't survive their injuries.
