A care home in Dudley is now in lockdown after a flu outbreak as cases continue to rise across England.

Shenstone Court Care Home, an assisted living residence for up to 64 people in Halesowen, announced the new measure today, Thursday, December 11.

After an outbreak of Flu A - the seasonal influenza A virus - the Somers Road home made the decision to enforce a "temporary lockdown".

A mulled wine afternoon, pencilled in for next Tuesday, December 16, has been cancelled at the home as a result. Staff at the care home have since apologised for the 'inconvenience and disappointment.'
