A man is accused of carrying out two knifepoint robberies at neighborhood stores on Long Island, Nassau County police announced on Thursday, Dec. 11.
Bryan McMenamin, 50, of 124 Acre Lane in Hicksville, was arrested after a search warrant was executed at his home on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 6 a.m., according to Robbery Squad detectives.
Investigators said McMenamin was linked to two robberies in which a man carrying a brown-handled butcher knife targeted businesses at the following dates and locations:
- Bolla Mart, 620 Old Country Road in Hicksville, on Sept. 22.
- A&N Grocery, 151 Levittown Parkway in Hicksville, on Nov. 20.
Detectives from the Robbery Squad, Bureau of Special Operations, Electronics Squad, Crime Scene, and Eighth Squad conducted the search warrant, police said. The butcher knife believed to have been used in both robberies was recovered at the home.
McMenamin is charged with:
- Felony Robbery 1st degree.
- Two counts of Misdemeanor Menacing 2nd degree.
- Felony Criminal Mischief 2nd degree.
- Felony Robbery 1st degree.
His preliminary arraignment was held at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead on Wednesday, Dec. 10, police said.
