WARREN - A Niles man who pled guilty to having sex with a teenage girl has learned his fate.

According to the Trumbull County Prosecutor's Office, 53-year-old Charles Shultz was sentenced to three years in prison on two counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor and one count of tampering with evidence.

Once he is released, Shultz must register as a Tier 2 sex offender twice per year for 25 years.

The charges were filed after it was discovered that Shultz had sex with a teenage female victim back in August of 2025. The tampering charge stems from Shultz trying to alter the DNA evidence collection process.
