BOSTON — Massachusetts Democratic Congresswoman Lori Trahan is leading a new bipartisan push in Congress to set national standards for college athletes who get paid for the fame and notoriety they gain by playing sports.
The College Athletics Reform Act , earlier this month in the U.S. House of Representatives, calls for establishing new federal standards for so-called name, image and likeness rights for college athletes and the agents that represent them while increasing revenue for schools and women’s sports.
