NORFOLK — Norfolk State looked like the team it believes it can become on Thursday afternoon, rolling past Dillard 100-54 at Echols Hall and flashing the defensive identity it has leaned on through one of the hardest nonconference schedules in the country.

The Spartans (5–7) opened with a jolt, racing to a 30–11 lead in the first 11 minutes. Runs of 13-4, 12-2 and 16-2 quickly put the game out of reach. It was NSU’s fourth 100-point game this century.

“We wanted to control the pace from the start,” NSU coach Jermaine Woods said. “We wanted to come out from the start and make them uncomfortable and jump on them early.”

Da’Brya Clark anchored NSU with a career-high 32 points, six rebounds and four assists. Four other Spartans reached double figures, including AJ Richardson with 18 points,
