Heart-pounding video captures the moment a hero NYPD detective on the way to work saved a choking baby on the side of a highway in the middle of rush-hour traffic.

Det. First Grade Michael Greaney, who works in the office of Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, was heading to the office around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday when he spotted a black BMW speeding along the emergency shoulder lane of the southbound Bronx River Parkway , cops said.
