STATEN ISLAND, NY — A Staten Island educator is seeking community support for a volunteer mission aimed at bringing educational resources to underserved communities in Africa.

Michael Tenuto, a certified New York State teacher and Ph.D. candidate in Educational Leadership, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $7,000 for a trip planned for August 2026. The funds will cover travel expenses, program costs, and supplies needed for the mission.

Tenuto plans to provide educational support, tutoring, and literacy instruction to students in Africa. He also intends to deliver essential school and community supplies to families in need.
