MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. — A Morgan County K9 officer is back home after being injured before a police shooting on Monday, Dec. 8.
"Bullet" was allegedly injured by a suspected burglar around 1:30 p.m. that day in the 4700 block of Belt Lane in Martinsville, near Patton Lake.
Police say the suspect attacked Bullet with a "blunt object," hitting the dog in the head multiple times.
Police later shot the suspect, who was last listed in "stable" condition at a hospital.
Bullet was taken to a veterinarian to be treated for his injuries.
In a post on social media on Wednesday, Dec. 10, Bullet's family announced that he had been released from the veterinarian.
