Contract talks between the St. Louis Blues and Philip Broberg should start soon

Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic: St. Louis Blues defenseman Philip Broberg is entering the final year of his contract. An early season prediction projected him at $6.7 million, but his play could have him in the eight years at $8 million per.

Blues GM Doug Armstrong said back in October that there wasn’t a rush to extend Broberg and Dylan Holloway. They were going to get them signed, and will leave room to sign both. Both are pending RFAs. Armstrong indicated that there could be talks in December.

Last week, Broberg’s agent, in a text, said: “I’m confident that, when appropriate, we’ll engage in those conversations.”
