New York has been ranked the fifth most generous state in the country based on repeat donors, according to GoFundMe’s 2025 Year in Help report released Wednesday.

The annual report highlights the platform’s biggest moments of giving, noting that an average of 2.5 donations were made every second worldwide in 2025.

GoFundMe said communities rallied around one another through natural disasters, medical crises, and everyday hardships, driving millions of people to donate, share campaigns, and support nonprofits.

This year’s data placed New York among the top five states with the highest percentage of returning donors — a metric GoFundMe uses to track consistent, repeated acts of generosity.

GoFundMe also released a list of Long Island’s most notable fundraisers of 2025, recognizing campaigns that drew widespread community support and raised significant financial help for families, survivors, and local organizations.
