Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Desmond King has announced his retirement via X.
“Officially retired! Bolt up,” King posted.
The University of Iowa product was drafted in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers. He was traded to the Tennessee Titans in 2020 and signed as a free agent with the Houston Texans in 2021. The Texans surprisingly cut him ahead of the 2023 season, where the Steelers then scooped him up, where he appeared in just three games before being released and then picked back up by the Texans.
King finished his career with nine interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. He also returned two punts for touchdowns in his career, earning a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2018.
