Acid was thrown on a woman's face near Forsyth Park, a Savannah Police Department (SPD) report says.

Around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday night, a woman was walking home near Whitaker Street and West Waldburg Street when a man approached her and threw corrosive liquid on her face.

The victim was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect has not been located at the time of publication.
