CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Powerball jackpot has officially hit $1 billion for the upcoming Saturday drawing, ranking as the seventh-largest jackpot in the game's history. The estimated cash value for the prize is $461.3 million.
Saturday's drawing will mark the 42nd consecutive drawing in the current jackpot run, tying the all-time record for the most consecutive drawings in a single Powerball cycle. The previous billion-dollar jackpot, won on September 6 of this year, also required 42 drawings.
