The state Department of Transportation will begin alternating lane closures on Interstate 26 in Spartanburg County for repairs to the bridge over Lake Bowen between Dec. 15 and Dec. 19.
The agency said repairs will begin before 9 a.m., Dec. 15, and start with a closure of the eastbound right lane. Once repairs to that lane are complete, work will shift to the eastbound left lane. Repairs to the eastbound lanes are expected to be complete by mid-week.
DOT crews will then shift to the westbound lanes following a similar procedure. One lane of traffic will remain open while repairs are being made.
