The Athletics are in agreement with reliever Mark Leiter Jr. on a one-year deal for about $3 million, ESPN reported Thursday.
The 34-year-old right-hander was non-tendered by the New York Yankees after the 2025 season and became a free agent in November.
Leiter was 6-7 with two saves and a 4.84 ERA in 59 relief appearances with the Yankees in 2025.
He is 16-29 with nine saves and a 4.60 ERA in 270 career games (15 starts) with the Philadelphia Phillies (2017-18), Toronto Blue Jays (2018), Chicago Cubs (2022-24) and Yankees (2024-25).
The deal with the A's reportedly is pending the results of a physical for Leiter, who missed the entire 2019 season after Tommy John surgery. Last season, he suffered a fibular head stress fracture in his left leg and spent time on the injured list.
