BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - The city of Burlington is facing another big budget gap.
Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak on Thursday said the city faces a projected $10 to $12 million gap and is looking at enhanced revenue streams.
Her office will propose a 5-cent increase to the police and fire tax, but that will only raise $3 million.
The mayor said the city needs to take a closer look at the true necessity of the services it provides and is asking all department heads to see if they can find any savings.
