ST. GEORGE, La. (WAFB) - The St. George Fire Department is hosting a fundraiser to help one of its own.
According to organizers, Jambalaya plates will be sold on Saturday, Dec. 13, to raise money for Philip Castleberry, who is fighting cancer.
The fundraiser starts at 11 a.m. at St. George Fire Station 60 on Airline Highway, and it continues until all plates are sold out.
Each plate is $12 and includes jambalaya, green beans, and a roll. Preordering is encouraged.
Community members can also support Castleberry by donating on The Yard Foundation’s website .
According to his fundraising campaign’s page, Castleberry spent 13 years as a firefighter, the last few of which were spent battling Lymphoma. Now, his condition requires aggressive treatment, and he is on sick leave indefinitely.
