Dong Phuong’s legendary Mardi Gras king cakes have inspired a cult following, with the delicacy selling out in minutes wherever they are available.

For a limited time, the famously creamy and well-textured king cakes are available for the holiday season at a few locations, including Dong Phuong’s New Orleans East store at 14207 Chef Menteur Highway.

You can also grab the prized cakes, dusted with red and green sugar, at a New Orleans-area grocery story and a Gulf Coast pharmacy.

Linh Tran Garza, the bakery's president, said about 100 cakes will be available daily at the bakery from Dec. 19 through Christmas Eve, except for the 23rd. They will be available in cinnamon or cream cheese flavors on a first come, first served basis.
