ALTO, La. (KNOE) - Renovations are finished for a 152-year-old church in Richland Parish. Volunteers moved furniture into the building on Dec. 11, and final touches should be finished by the end of the year.

Alto Presbyterian Church started undergoing renovations in 2020 with help from community donations and grants.

One contractor who worked on renovating the church said it’s good for the community to have somewhere local to go.

“Those folks that attend to the church regularly or at events, they now have it back,” said Robert Riddle, owner of Building with Riddle.

Riddle said the church renovations are finished. CJ Sartor, an Alto Presbyterian member who has headed the renovation efforts, said she believes there is some touching up to do on the outside.
