Purchase of historic Ben Moore hotel fuels preservation plans

After decades of vacancy and lukewarm revitalization attempts, the future of the historic Ben Moore Hotel finally has direction.

As the Advertiser previously reported , on Jan. 30, the property was listed on several real estate sites for $419,000. In November the building was purchased by The Conservation Fund, an organization that describes its purpose as "buying at-risk land with high conservation value to protect it from degradation."
