Thai authorities have cancelled the visas of Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of the ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub in Goa, and have moved to place them under formal detention, top government sources told CNN-News18.
They added that the brothers will be brought to Bangkok and taken to a detention centre either later today or tomorrow, after which Indian agencies will initiate the deportation process.
The two are likely to be flown back to India next week because they can be moved only after the weekend.
The sequence of action began soon after the Luthras were located in Thailand, where they had travelled to Phuket within hours after the December 6 fire at their Goa nightclub left 25 people dead.
Gaurav, 44, and Saurabh, 40, left the country at 1.17 am on December 7, barely an hour
