BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services will launch a new call center next week designed to handle child welfare calls more efficiently and respond faster to reports of children in danger. It’s an already existing call center in Iberville Parish that has been used for emergency preparedness. The facility will be taken over by DCFS on December 15.
The new facility features monitors on walls, drop screens from ceilings, and multiple stations to function as a child safety response center for the hotline, said DCFS Secretary Rebecca Harris.
