All trains have been suspended between two major stations as emergency services deal with an ongoing incident on the tracks this evening.

Services have been halted on the line between Wilmslow and Crewe this evening. Avanti West Coast services are among those unable to run between the two stops.

National Rail said disruption is expected until the end of the day, with emergency services currently at the scene. The nature of the incident has not been confirmed, but the British Transport Police have been approached for a comment.
