Upton Road was closed following a crash

A busy road was closed this evening after a van collided with a bus. The crash happened at around 3.40pm on Thursday (December 11) on Upton Road, near Seaforth Drive in Wirral .

Merseyside Police confirmed it involved a bus and a Ford E-Transit van. Arriva North West warned passengers of significant delays, announcing that services 413 and 414 were being diverted. In a statement posted on X, the company said: "Due to a police incident on Upton Rd, services 413 & 414 will divert via Sandbrook Lane, Manor Drive, Upton Bypass & Ford Rd in both directions until further notice.

"Delays are likely, please allow extra time for your journey."
