ORIENT, Ohio — A 70-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a violent head-on collision on U.S. Route 62, according to Pickaway County Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey.

The crash occurred at 10:41 a.m. on December 10, 2025 , when the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a serious injury crash near 9976 U.S. Route 62 .

Deputies arrived to find a devastating scene involving three vehicles.

According to investigators, a 2023 white Kenworth semi-truck , driven westbound by Travis C. Kemper , was struck head-on by a 2023 red Dodge Ram driven eastbound by David E. Shannon , 70, of Orient.
