Jalandhar Cantt MLA Pargat Singh on Thursday said the government had completely lost control over law and order. He said Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann remained occupied with domestic and foreign trips instead of focusing on the deteriorating situation at home. "The Chief Minister should postpone his foreign tours and work to restore peace and security so that people living in fear can get relief," he said.

Pargat alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party was using every possible tactic to undermine democracy in the upcoming zila parishad and block samiti elections. Instead of ensuring free and fair elections, the government was openly flouting the election code of conduct, he said.
