Longmont city staff are warning the public about a fraudulent email circulating that impersonates the city’s Planning and Development Services Department and requests payment via wire transfer.

According to a city news release, the email being used for this scam is planning.longmont@usa.com. The city advises anyone who receives an email from this email address to delete it as soon as possible and refrain from opening or clicking on any attachments.

Official city email addresses end in @longmontcolorado.gov. Additionally, the city will never request payment through wire transfer, the release says.
