The Steelers continue to add to their offensive tackle room after a rash of injuries at the position.

On Thursday, the team announced it has signed offensive tackle Doug Nester to the practice squad. After releasing running back Trey Sermon on Wednesday, there was an open spot available.

Nester should be a familiar name to Steeler fans. A former teammate of Zach Frazier’s at West Virginia, he spent the 2024 season on the Pittsburgh practice squad. He has guard/tackle versatility, spending most of his time in the NFL at guard. However, his signing was announced at tackle.

The 6’6, 306-pound lineman has yet to play in a regular season NFL game. He went undrafted in 2024 after 52 career starts as a Mountaineer.
