UConn interim head coach Gordon Sammis is expected to be headed to TCU, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel Thursday afternoon.

Sammis is expected to serve as the Horned Frogs’ offensive coordinator and play caller, the same role he had with the Huskies under former coach Jim Mora, according to Thamel. He was named UConn’s interim head coach after Mora departed for Colorado State and has been preparing to coach the Huskies in the Fenway Bowl against Army on Dec. 27.

A two-time nominee for the Broyles Award in his two years as UConn’s OC, the highly-respected former offensive line coach led the Huskies to two of the most successful offensive seasons in their history.
