A 14-year-old boy has admitted to a reckless homicide delinquency charge arising from a friend’s fatal shooting Sept. 25.

Eshon Hoskins entered the admission Monday in Lucas County Juvenile Court, and disposition of the case has been scheduled for Jan. 7.

Dayvion Boone, 14, died in Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center several hours after being shot in the head at a home in the 4500 block of Walker Avenue.

Patricia Wardrop, chief of juvenile prosecution for the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office, said Thursday that investigators determined the boys were playing with a gun when Hoskins accidentally shot young Boone.
