A New Jersey man was hailed as a hero for months after he tried to save his neighbor, an elderly woman, from a burning house. However, he has now been arrested and charged with her murder in an unexpected twist to a heartbreaking story.
As reported by WABC , 70-year-old William Ahle previously told the authorities that he attempted to save his neighbor , 82-year-old Virginia Cranwell, from a house fire in Fanwood on July 25. Cranwell, unfortunately, perished in the fire, and Ahle was hospitalized, having suffered multiple burns throughout his body.
For months, Ahle was hailed as a hero , willing to sacrifice himself to save Cranwell. It all changed on Wednesday, December 10, as a SWAT team reportedly stormed his home and arrested him. The Union County Prosecutor's Office (UCP
