MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - The mission of Wreaths Across America is simple.
Remember the fallen.
Honor those who serve and teach the next generation the value of freedom.
Sixth graders from Battell Elementary School in Mishawaka got that lesson in freedom Thursday.
They unloaded over 3,000 wreaths at Fairview Cemetery.
Betty Paige Keranen is a former marine and local organizer for Battell Elementary School and Wreaths Across America.
“We had a police escort this morning to bring in the wreaths. And then the kids came in they walked in from Battell Elementary School to help unload,” said Keranen.
A student at Battell Elementary says that the organization is about remembering those who died in the war.
