Fentanyl usage is on the rise and the Idaho State Police has trained its K-9 officers to sniff out the deadly opioid.
The fentanyl training adds a fifth drug to the roster that ISP’s dogs can recognize, including heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines and marijuana, according to a Tuesday press release. Sgt. Chris Cottrell said that fentanyl presents a unique challenge that has been on the rise over the past few years.
