MUSKEGON COUNTY, Mich. — Amber Mwingira got the call from her sister Wednesday afternoon that her mother, Angel Patton, and her youngest sister, nine-year-old Lily Dodge, died in a car accident off Maple Island Road in Egelston Township.

"It was devastating to know like not just my mom, but also like my, my my my last born, you know my youngest sister as well," said Amber.

The two lived in Hesperia and were on their way to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids. Muskegon County deputies believe the car lost control on Maple Island Road before crashing into a propane tanker.

"My little sister had pain in her abdomen so the hospital in Fremont said that the Grand Rapids has the larger hospital so they recommended she go there," said Amber.
