Gov. Greg Gianforte issued Thursday an executive order declaring a flooding disaster in northwestern Montana.
“Continued rainfall across northwestern Montana has flooded some of our communities, including the town of Libby,” Gianforte said in a statement. “This order will ensure resources are deployed quickly and effectively to protect Montanans and their property.”
In a social media post, the Montana Highway Patrol urged only necessary travel in Lincoln County, citing a request from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
