KENSINGTON — Owen Robertson’s second-place 17:00.2 paced the Brainerd Warriors to first place in the season-opening Alexandria Invite at Andes Tower Hills.

Taite Knapp finished eighth, followed by Lee Knapp in 12th and Wyatt Brown in 13th for Brainerd’s 369 team points, which was five better than second-place Moorhead.

Annelise Baird crossed the 5-kilometer classic race with a second-place time of 19:44.88 to lead the Brainerd girls to third.

Briana Blasing finished 16th, followed by Maev Storbakken in 18th and Sophia Porter in 22nd for Brainerd’s 346 points.

The Little Falls boys finished fifth with Nicholas Sprang’s third-place 17:30.24 leading the way. The Flyer girls finished seventh. Elyse Yorek posted a 24:03.59 to place 21st and lead Little Falls.
