BUNKIE, La. (KALB) - St. Edwards Funeral Home in Bunkie hosted a brunch on Dec. 11 to feed the city’s senior citizens as part of a community outreach effort during the holiday season.

The brunch started at 10 a.m. and continued until the food was gone. The menu featured shrimp and grits, sausage, eggs and bananas.

The seniors all gave testimonies where they talked about their love of God.

Irma C. Wiley, a 98-year-old attendee, expressed gratitude for being honored.

“It’s such a joy. It’s just so much. I just cannot explain it. At this age, you know, if people still look or respect me at 98 years old, it’s just something that I cannot explain. I cannot. I’m just so... oh my goodness, you don’t know,” she told us.
