SCHUYLERVILLE — Saratoga 250 is bringing the Continental Army to life Saturday in Schuylerville and Mechanicville as Henry Knox’s Noble Train of Artillery crosses the Hudson to commemorate the successful 1775 winter journey.
The day begins at 1 p.m. when the artillery train arrives in Saratoga County at Dix Bridge in Hudson Crossing Park. The procession will feature replica sleds and a Revolutionary War-era cannon pulled by draft horses. Reenactors will emulate how Knox and patriots transported crucial cannon from Fort Ticonderoga during the winter of 1775-76 to Boston, leading to the British evacuation.
