PASCAGOULA , Miss. (WLOX) - Ingalls Shipbuilding launched its annual Holiday Giving Event Thursday morning, with shipbuilders arriving at the Maritime Training Academy carrying donations for families across the Gulf Coast.

Workers brought toys, wrapped gifts and essential food items to support children and families who may be struggling this season. Teams of shipbuilders loaded them into trucks for delivery to local organizations.

“It’s so special and we do some really hard really important work here but if you step back, this is really hard really important work too and it’s something we can all be so proud of,” Ingalls manager of stakeholder engagement Lisa Bradley said.

The donations will go to four local organizations that work directly with families in need: Salvation Army’s Angel
