A German influencer is reportedly responding to critics who questioned why she would allegedly abandon four rabbits in a forest.

“This has been weighing on my conscience for a while now, but I haven’t dared to address it myself until now because I feel incredibly guilty and ashamed,” Alicia Vosgrau reportedly wrote via Instagram in a statement translated by Us Weekly. “We had the incredibly stupid idea of releasing the remaining four rabbits into a wooded area, believing at the time that they would be fine there afterward.”

While two of the rabbits have since been rehomed, Vosgrau continues to face consequences with multiple couples reportedly no longer collaborating with the influencer.
