A Fort Wayne man was sentenced to 87 years in prison for murder and other charges after he was found guilty of fatally shooting a woman in the parking lot of a strip club.

Breshawn L. Smith, 28, was initially charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder, along with criminal recklessness and a sentencing enhancement for using a gun to commit the crime. The attempted murder charges were dismissed before the trial, but jurors found Smith guilty of the remaining charges at the end of a four-day trial.

Jurors found him guilty of murder, criminal recklessness and the sentencing enhancement last month. He faced up to 87 1/2 years in prison.
