NEW ORLEANS —
On Saturday, the reigning champs, Edna Karr Cougars will take on the St. Augustine Purple Knights.
Both teams are known for their excellence in academics and sports. This game is a personal one for the players and coaches, and maybe for some of the WDSU team as well. Advertisement
WDSU Reporter Shay O'Connor was live outside of the Superdome after speaking with people on both sides.
The Purple and Gold pride for both schools is real. With both hoping to take home the Big "W".
Jamar McKneely, the CEO of InspireNOLA Schools said, "I think the thing that's the most special is we are playing St. Augustine High School who is also a partner of our organization. We do a lot together in the community."
They may be competitors.
