ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -Tensions boiled over at a board of aldermen meeting Wednesday over plans to use tax dollars on bus rapid transit.
This comes after the Metrolink “Greenline” idea was scrapped due to funding.
Instead of a north-south Metrolink, leaders now want to give buses a dedicated lane, but the big question is whether they can use tax dollars approved by voters in 2017 specifically for the Greenline.
Aldermanic President Megan Green wants to ask the voters to approve that, rather than getting dragged into court for a lawsuit.
Green’s bill asks voters to reallocate tax dollars.
Right now, it’s in its infancy stage, but it is possible it can make it on the ballot for the April election.
