HOLLY, MI – A Holly man who allegedly admitted to killing his mother after an argument about his life choices has been charged with first-degree murder and other felonies.
James Robert Hall, 39, allegedly smothered his mother, 59-year-old Kristine Lynn Hall, with a pillow on Nov. 24, according to a news release from the Holly Police Department.
Officers discovered Kristine dead in her home on Ash Street in Holly after family members checked on her.
Investigators determined she was allegedly killed by her son, James, who stole his mother’s car, money and jewelry before fleeing to Kalamazoo before he was arrested.
The victim’s daughter reported to police that James admitted to killing Kristine in a conversation with their father, according to the release.
