Several community members demanded answers and action during a special meeting of the Shelby County Public School Board Dec. 11 as district administrators continue to investigate allegations of inappropriate behavior by Collins High School boys' basketball coach Chris Gaither.

The meeting took place roughly a week after former SCPS student Haley Murphy Weddle delivered a letter to the district Dec. 4 alleging she was "groomed" by Gaither, according to previous reporting by The Courier Journal.

Gaither is currently suspended with pay and under investigation for the second time this season .
